Samsung, Miscrosoft and many Android devices added many multitasking capabilities. One among them is split screen multitasking. Apple is in the process to add this feature to its flagship tablet iPad.
This feature is already available in Microsoft Surface and Samsung Galaxy tablets to bridge the efficiency gap. According to 9to5Mac's Mark Gurman, Apple planning to introduce split-screen functionality into iOS 8. The functionality is similar to the Microsoft Surface feature, the alleged split-screen windows will allow users to run and interact with two iPad apps at the same time.
