Ubuntu handsets will be appearing this year by two small manufacturers namely Chinese Electronics Company Meizu and Spanish phone maker bq. Canonical announced this on Wednesday.The company will release additional details of the devices and its smartphone and tablet strategy at next weeks Mobile World Congress trade show said by Founder of Canonical and Ubuntu, Mark Shuttleworth. He did not disclose any details of the planned Ubuntu phones from Meizu and bq, including pricing and functionality.This both companies will be releases into a few markets with their existing models-BQ focused on Europe, where as Meizu on China, Hong Kong, Israel, and Russia. The Ubuntu devices will be available globally when bought online.Shuttleworth explained that Ubuntu is the open alternative to Android, and said that it would be appealing to all those who were highly attracted to Androids open source platform. It will support applications built with HTML5, using the Blink rendering engine and Cordova runtime. There will also be some native applications, developed with Qt, such as Evernote. So we need to wait and see wither it happens or not.
