Lenovo, Toshiba declared 3 major e-retailers as unauthorized resellers

Two of the biggest tech giants namely Chinese smartphone and PC maker Lenovo and Japanese Toshiba have issued a warning to customers who want to buy their products from online stores.Targeting especially on Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon India, Lenovo has issued a warning to customers who want to buy their products from online stores. According to their website these three E-commerce retailers are not authorized resellers of their products. Lenovo asks customers to check their warranty entitlements when buying from these online retailers.After Lenovo notice on their Indian website, Toshiba also gave a notice on their website that it does not have any direct agreements or arrangements with these online retailers and they are not authorized by the company.Sudhin Mathur, Director, Smartphones, Lenovo India said that, what we have noticed in the past few months is that some of these sites, and largely due to a marketplace kind of a set up, there are a lot of resellers that have cropped up, which are selling at very low predatory prices. These we believe may or may not be authorized or genuine products.In order to these notices Flipkart and Snapdeal have responded back to the warning and stated that they take care to list sellers who have the necessary authorization to sell the products mentioned.
