Nokia is preparing to introduce a smartphone running a version of Googles Android operating system. American business publication, Wall Street Journal (WSJ) citing sources has claimed that Nokia despite being acquired by Microsoft (later in March) is going to launch the companys first ever Android smartphone Nokia X aka Normandy at the upcoming international telecommunication trade show Mobile World Congress 2014, scheduled at Barcelona, Spain on 24 February.

Google has not commented publicly on the prospect of a Nokia phone running on an Android core, either today or last year when the rumor first surfaced. Nokia also refused to comment when contacted today.

Though it is rumored as the android device, Nokia X reportedly runs on tweaked Android OS (without Google Play) integrated with the Finnish companys, as well as Microsoft software support.
