Today in a bid to expand its reach to price sensitive mass market, Japanese electronics major Panasonic launched two feature phones EZ180 and EZ240 for Rs 1,350 and Rs 1,790, respectively.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Manish Sharma, Managing Director of Panasonic India said that with these new offerings, Panasonic is focusing on expanding beyond the metros and delivering a remarkable mobile experience to the Indian mass consumers. The devices offer a good battery life, Hindi support and security features like mobile tracker, security inbox and application privacy.

At present, it will not be easy for Panasonic to get leverage in the fragmented feature phones market in India, which is dominated by Nokia, Samsung, Micromax and Karbonn etc, brands. Probably, they are late entrant to this segment also.
