WhatsApp is the early mover in to the messaging app market and captured many millions users with simple user interface and best performing architecture. Now, WhatsApp accounts for 430 million active users. But despite the influx of new competition from the likes of Line, WeChat, KakaoTalk and Snapchat, WhatsApp says it will be sticking to its basic rules: avoiding advertising. It is a perfect and great move. In this process WhatsApp team continuing to request its users to keep paying to use the service as its basic business model. WhatsApp co-founder and CEO Jan Koum keeping the team focused on maintaining their basic philosophy. WhatsApp which used to be paid, is now free to download and costs $0.99/year to use after the first year.
